                            technique when training. Students will use the training principles used in Beginning PT to enhance

                            them physically throughout the semester. Beginning PT (4790) or is a prerequisite.

4790 .5    7-8  Beginning   This course is designed to teach 7th graders the importance of a healthy lifestyle through the use of

                (HMS/HWMS) importance of safety and the use of proper technique.

4791 .5    7-8 Spirit Fitness This course engages students on a daily basis in activities that work to improve flexibility, muscular
                             (HMS/HWMS) strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness, problem solving, HWMS spirit, and HWMS
                                                 PRIDE. The class involves activities like tumbling, aerobic activities, rope activities, cheerleading
                                                 skills, jumps, etc. This class is open to 7th and 8th grade boys and girls.

4582 .5    7-8  Computer I  Computer 1 is offered to seventh graders for one semester. Touch typing skills are reinforced in this
                (HMS/HWMS)  class. Students use Microsoft Word to produce, format, and edit documents. Microsoft Excel is used
                            to create spreadsheets using many different mathematical functions and to produce charts.
                Computer 2  Presentations using animation and sound are prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint. Students also
                (HMS/HWMS)  prepare graphic organizers for projects using the program Inspiration. Proper Internet searches and
                            safety are discussed during the semester.

                            This program has varied approach in garnering student interest in computers. The class begins with
                            a brief introduction to Micro Soft Works database. This is followed up by a music creation program
                            name Sony Acid music. Additionally, Photoshop and Ulead Cool 3d are used to create different
                            visual projects. Finally students are given time to create blueprints using Cad as well as web design.
