Enrollment 2026-2027 For Returning Students
Enrollment for returning students, PreK-12th grade, is July 13, 2026, through July 30, 2026.
Enrollment is required each year to ensure student records are accurate and up to date. This process allows parents and guardians to review and update important details, including phone numbers, addresses, emails, emergency contacts, and health information.
Haysville Public Schools offers online enrollment for returning students, making it easy to complete the process from home. Use the information on this page as a guide through each step. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your child’s school or the district office. Below you'll find details for both returning and new student enrollment!
Age Requirements
Pre-K: For Pre-K and early childhood programs
Kdg: 5 years of age on or before August 31
1st Grade: 6 years of age on or before August 31

Child Nutrition Program
The Child Nutrition Program is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and private nonprofit schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost, or no-cost lunches to children each school day. To see if your child/children qualify for free or reduced-price school meals, complete the application online by clicking on the 'Online Application' button below.
Students who qualify for the Free & Reduced Lunch Program may also qualify to have their school fees waived. If you would like to see if your student qualifies, start by completing the Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals below. Once the application has been reviewed and processed, a 'Qualification Letter' will be emailed to the email address listed as the Guardian Email in PowerSchool (or the first email if more than one email address is listed).
- If you receive a notice of INELIGIBILITY letter, you do not qualify for waived fee status and will need to pay your student fees.
- If you receive a notice of FREE or REDUCED letter, you may qualify for the free or reduced meals 'Waived Fee' status. In order to qualify, you must provide the school with a copy of your qualification letter by either bringing the letter directly to the school office or by forwarding the letter via email (call the school office for the email address). Once the qualification letter is received, it will be reviewed, and if approved, qualifying fees will be waived.
Immunization Requirements for the 2026-27 School Year
Notes
* Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine is not required if the child has had the disease and the disease is documented by a physician's signature. Without a physician's signature, the vaccine is still required even if you believe your child has had chickenpox.
** Total doses needed depend on vaccine type and the child's age when doses were administered.
*** Three doses are acceptable if the 3rd dose was given after 4 years of age, and there are at least 6 months between the second and third doses.
~ All students in grades 7-12 must have one dose of Tdap regardless of the interval since the last dose of DTaP or Td.
Returning Student Enrollment
When to use Returning Student Online Registration:
If your student was enrolled and attending a school within our district at the end of the 2026-2027 school year and will be returning for the upcoming school year, you will use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the Online Enrollment for returning students. If you do not remember your login information, call your child/childrens school or the administration building to have your password reset.
Please look over the information on file for your student/students and make any necessary updates. The school must have current contact information for parents/guardians.
*Changes made to the address are subject to approval by the school office. You must provide one of the acceptable Proof of Residency documents before the office will approve the change.
Please complete the Online Enrollment as soon as possible. Fees may be paid online, returned by mail, or in person to the Administration Office.
New Student Enrollment
When to Enroll as a New Student:
If your student has never attended a school in the USD 261 School District, you will enroll as a new student.
If your student has previously attended any school in the USD 261 school district and has withdrawn and attended a school outside our district, but is planning to return for the coming school year, you will enroll as a new student.

Nonresident Enrollment
Kansas law allows students who live outside the USD 261 boundaries to apply for enrollment through the state's open enrollment process. Admission is based on available space at each grade level and school. Families interested in applying, please click the link for more information.
Food Services
The Food Service Department serves more than 1,400 breakfast and 3,400 lunch meals a day. Food Service supports student learning by providing nutritious, well-balanced meals according to federal, state, and district regulations while maintaining a self-supporting program. Early Childhood
Haysville School District is able to offer a half-day Early Childhood Program to eligible children who are three or four years old on or before August 31. Families interested in applying, please click the link for more information.
