Campus High Senior Prepares for the Future with USD 261 Communications Internship

As an intern in Media Design and Communication, I have had the opportunity to gain real-world experience by writing content for my school’s social media page and creating graphic designs to support those posts. These experiences have allowed me to take what I’ve learned in the classroom and apply it in a professional setting where communication and creativity really matter. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is how important it is to adjust my writing depending on the audience. When creating posts, I have to make sure my writing is clear, concise, and engaging while still interestingly delivering the message.

I have also learned a lot through designing graphics for social media posts. This has shown me how important visuals are when communicating information, since layout, color choices, and spacing can all impact how people understand and connect with a message. Working on these designs has helped me improve my creativity and pay more attention to detail.

Overall, this internship experience has helped me strengthen my communication and design skills while also giving me a better understanding of what it’s like to work in the media and communication field. It has been a valuable experience that is helping me prepare for future career opportunities.
