
These Special Activities give parents and kids an opportunity to have new experiences together which helps develop language and intellectual skills. While we pay most of the cost of these events, we do charge a small fee for some of these events to help offset our costs. Please mark the following dates on your calendar and plan to attend.

Horseback riding at the Templin Farm: September 28 @ 10:00 AM. Location: Intersection of Hoover Road and 71st St. So. Cost: $1 per child riding.
Surviving the Recession: September 22 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Location: P.A.T. parent workshop at The Learning Center. Topics include: Cutting food costs, Relieving Stress, etc. Watch for flyers at P.A.T. events for more information. This event is free.
Bergmann's Pumpkin Farm: October 9 @ 9:30 AM. Located at 8401 S. Meridian. Cost: $1 per child in attendance.
Exploration Place: November 13 @ 9:50 AM. $2 per person age 2 and older.
Wichita Children's Theatre: December 4 @ 9:50 AM. Showing of "The Runaway Snowman." $2 per person age 2 and older.
Tool Time: January 18 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. This is an evening event for parents and children to experience some hands-on fun. There is no charge for this event.
"Just For You" Mom's Meal: February 23 @ 6:30 PM. This is an evening event held at The Learning Center. There is no charge for this event.
Big Truck Night: April 13 @ 6:30 - 7:30 PM. This is an evening event held in our parking lot, and there in no charge.
Sedgwick County Zoo Trip: April 30 @ 9:50 AM. Cost: $2 per adult and child 4 and older. Children 3 and under are free.
PAT Family Picnic: May 11 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. Located at Riggs Park. Bring a side dish to share. There is no charge for this event.
All Parents as Teachers and Bridge to Bright Beginnings families are encouraged to participate in any of these events. Daycare providers or other family members are welcome to attend with your child if you are unable to do so. Research shows that the more opportunities your child has to learn and develop, the more brain development will take place.
