Winter is Upon Us!

Please make sure your child dresses for cooler weather and brings a coat to school every day. Students should not be wearing shorts or flip flops. Don't forget the hat and gloves!

E-Books at Home

Did you know that students can access e-books at home using two favorite sites, TumbleBooks and BookPALS:Storyline? TumbleBooks is an online collection of animated, talking picture and chapter books. It is a subscription service, therefore requires a username and password. Access TumbleBooks at http://www.tumblebooklibrary.com

To log in, enter username: Freeman and the password: Books. Once in the site, select the type of book, for example, Story Books, Read Alongs, or Non-Fiction Books. Then, select a specific title by clicking on it. The books are created in flash animation, which requires the Flash 6 plug-in. A free download is available under the Help button.

BookPALS:Storyline is a streaming-video site sponsored by

the Screen Actors Guild and features SAG members reading children's books aloud. The URL for this site is http://www.storylineonline.net/

How We Do It

Student Absences

Please remember to call the office when your child will not be in school because of illness or appointments by 9 AM. Our phone number is 554- 2265. Students arriving at 8:20 a.m.
or later must check in at the office. Your help in these
matters are greatly appreciated.

Picking Up Students Early From School

If you have to pick up your child from school during school hours, please plan for enough time before your appointment.
Students will remain in their class until you have checked them out in the office. We will not have any students waiting in the office before you are here.

Olweus Bully Prevention

Freeman students and staff work very hard to make our school a bully-free place. We celebrate every Wednesday by wearing our Wonderful World T-Shirts.
At Freeman our definition of bullying behavior is behavior that is unfair, has an imbalance of power, is hurtful, is done on purpose, and is repeated. This includes physical, verbal, social, emotional, or cyber bullying. Please watch future newsletters for additional ways to keep Freeman Falcons safe.
