KAKE TV recognizes Teacher Jennifer McElroy with Golden Apple Award
The Golden Apple Crew of KAKE TV awarded Jennifer McElroy, Kindergarten teacher at Freeman Elementary, the Golden Apple Award. This award recognizes Wichita-area teachers who go beyond the call of duty for our children. Jennifer was nominated by some admiring parents. Her class received pizza and Jennifer received a check for $250. The event will be aired on KAKE TV 10 at 10:00 PM Sat., Sept. 4 and posted online at KAKE.com by Sept. 7.

Bring your best smiles and happy faces on Picture Day. All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook. If you wish to order a packet, return your picture envelope with your money and order by September 21.
School Hours
A reminder that school hours are from 8:30 AM - 3:35 PM. There is no adult supervision available for students until 8:00 AM unless you participate in Latchkey services. In the morning students who arrive prior to 8:20 AM should enter through the front doors and go to the gym. Afternoon kindergarteners who do not eat lunch at school should not be dropped off until 12:45 PM. Thank you for your cooperation on these matters.
Family Rights and Privacy Act
As in the past, USD 261 will be releasing information and photos to the media throughout the coming school year of various activities and programs. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, disclosure without prior consent is permitted by law, including the following directory information: name, address, telephone number, and photographs. You have the right to refuse to permit the release of any or all of the above information. If you refuse, you must give written notification to this effect to the Superintendent of Schools for USD 261, 1745 West Grand, Haysville, KS 67060 on or before Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010. If refusal is not filed, USD 261 assumes there is no objection to the release of the information designated or photos.
