Colt Coins/Rewards
Mixed in with all the noise, confusion, dust, and dirt, students at CHS are being recognized for positive behavior. Students are earning points that can be spent as they accumulate. Points can be earned for grades, perfect attendance, no tardies, and for scoring proficient or better on state assessments. Colt coins are given for random acts of kindness that are observed by the staff. Each coin is worth 10 points and students can deposit these points into their accounts during Seminar on White Fridays. What if students have already been absent or tardy this year? At the beginning of each month, students can try again to work toward these goals. Please encourage your child to be on time to every class and be at school every day.
A variety of options for "spending" points is available to all students, from buying t-shirts or a day out of school, to detention time and new agendas. Gift cards can also be purchased with points. Please refer to the October Newsletter for a complete list of options.
As a Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Committee, we are seeing a positive change in students as we continue to look for what students are doing right. We are hoping some real life skills can be learned, including: setting goals, planning ahead, delayed gratification, and positive/negative consequences as a result of their choices.
