Nominations for the class of 2010-2011 Hall of Fame are due to Mr. Elliott at CHS by March 31. See criteria

 

Winter Homecoming

Congratulations to John Burba and Whitney Chrisman, who were selected as the 2010 Winter Homecoming King and Queen. The crowning ceremony was held on Friday, February 19, between the girls and boys basketball games. A Homecoming Dance was held immediately following the game.

 

Career Choices, What to Do, What To Do?

Campus High School will offer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) March 12, 8 AM at CHS. The ASVAB is free to any Junior or Senior. The test is used to determine career aptitude and is the primary screening tool for entrance into the United States Military. Interested students may sign up with Mr. Hook in the Campus Counseling Center at 554-2240 or email: thook@usd261.com. Students taking the ASVAB will have no military obligation.

 

9th Annual Dinner Concert and Silent Auction

On Saturday, March 6th, the CHS bands will hold their 9th Annual Dinner Concert & Silent Auction at Nelson Elementary from 4 - 6 PM. Dinner will consist of lasagna, salad, bread stick, drink and dessert. All four bands will perform a wide variety of music. Tickets will go on sale February 17.

Congratulations to Laticia Warren and Justin VanNess

These students are to be congratulated on their outstanding academic achievements. Laticia was named one of approximately 16,000 semi-finalists in the 55th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. She will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.
Justin has been named a Commended Student in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation will be presented to him.

 

Three Students receive AP Scholar Awards

Four graduates of CHS have earned Advanced Placement Scholar Awrds in recognition for their exceptional achievement on AP Exams las spring.

Brayden Barrientez qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken.
Ruth Bailey, Caleb Hollaway, and Kyle Newton qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher.

 

Tutoring Is Available for Your Child At CHS

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, students may stay afterschool for extra help on their assignments. Tutoring is in room C16 from 3:05 - 3:50 on the above days. Beginning February 1, 2010, a bus will no longer be provided to take the students home.

Help Campus High School When Shopping

Residents lving in Haysville USD 261 area can raise funds for local schools through shopping programs at Homeland, Target and Office Depot.

 

Homeland's "Dollar$ for School$" Program will contribute money to our school if you register for a Homeland card and determine CHS to receive credit for your purchases. CHS ID# 64009.


Target's "Take Charge of Education" program website indicates that more than $8,000 has been donated to eight Haysville schools. Target donates 1% of you total purchase to a designated school, if you use your Target Visa Credit Card. CHS Target ID # 52809.


Office Depot will award CHS 5% of the qualifying purchases in merchandise credit which can be used towards free supplies. CHS Office Depot ID# 700 39 406.
