Alternative High School Evaluation Process
The three options considered in the evaluation process are:
Option 1: Traditional Diploma
Utilized by 2nd year freshman or sophomores. The students work toward accruement of credits to enable the return to the traditional educational setting and graduate with their class, or to receive the comprehensive diploma offered through HAHS.
Option 2: USD 261 High School Diploma
Utilized by the student who is junior, senior age or an older student with very few credits. These students must successfully complete required course work and a comprehensive diagnostic exam, to receive this diploma.
Option 3: Evening Program
Utilized by students to accrue credits toward graduation, to earn a high school diploma from HAHS, to earn their USD 261 High School Diploma in conjunction with the GED program, or to make up classes failed. This is an on-going personalized program designed to enhance students' skills as well as build skills needed to be successful. The courses offered are English, math, science, and social studies.
