Rex Elementary School is one of six elementary schools within the Haysville School District. The school houses approximately 411 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through fifth Grade.

 

School Arrival

Please do not drop your child off at school before 8:00 a.m. We are concerned for their safety, as they have no supervision before 8:00 a.m. If students arrive before 8:25 a.m. they will be expected to do one of two things:
1. Eat breakfast in the Commons
2. Go to the gym (Students will be expected to read during this time.)
We do have a Latchkey program available if you need to drop your child off before 8:00 a.m. Please contact the Haysville Activity Center at 529-5922 for more information.
If your child continues to arrive early, the principal, Mr. Brian Howard, will be calling you to discuss other possible options to insure your child’s safety. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

 

Breakfast and Lunch Information

Breakfast at Rex will be served beginning at 8:00 a.m. Students may bring payment for Breakfast/lunch on the first
day of school. Breakfast costs are $1.15 or 30 cents for
those approved for reduced cost. Lunch fees are $1.75 or
40 cents for reduced lunch fees. Milk is available for purchase for 35 cents. Please make checks payable to USD
261. In an effort to curb paper costs, reminder notes will
not be sent home regarding lunch account balances. You
may check your child’s account through PowerSchool
which can be accessed at our district website usd261.com.

Please note: No “Borrows” are Allowed

If your student has been diagnosed with a food sensitivity
the Food Service department will make adjustments to the
meals served if you have a form on file completed by a
