Powerschool Introduction

Powerschool is an easy to use, web-based student information system. It is intended to provide parents, students and teachers with a tool to communicate student performance. Powerschool may be accessed from any place the parent/guardian can access the Internet. The application is a secure link that encrypts the data to and from the end user. In addition, a username and password are provided to allow access for only authorized users to the appropriate student record.


Getting Started

Login to Powerschool: The Login page allows authorized users to access the web pages containing their students information. The username and password must be entered exactly as provided to you. Each username and password are unique to each student. If you have more than one child, you will have different logins for each child.

*Remember that every student has TWO logins, one student and one guardian. The logins are setup in the student's "Modify Info" screen in PowerSchool. The only difference is that the student login is missing the "Email Notification" button.

Grades and Attendance

This is the default page that you see upon entering your username and password. To return to this page from any other menu selection, double-click on the red apple at the top left of your screen.

This page shows the students Attendance record for the current two weeks and an entry for an absences. There is a Legend at the bottom of the screen to explain the meaning of the entries. The Courses, Teachers term grades and recorded attendance is displayed. The fields shown in blue provide a link to another page or function.

Send email to a teacher

If you are using an email client application (i.e. Outlook, Pegasus) clicking on one of the teacher names will allow you to send an email directly to the teacher selected. If you are using a web-based email such as Yahoo or Hotmail, note the address when you move your mouse over the name and send email through your web email.

Clicking on the blue number below the letter grade will bring up the "Class Score Detail" page for the class selected.

This page displays the Due Date of the assignment, the type of work and the score received for each of the assignments.

Grades History

This selection will allow viewing of the students grade history. It displays any grade from the current year.

Clicking on the blue number under the Attendance column will bring up the attendance detail for the class selected.

**Note: For grades 6-12 Attendance totals = total number of class periods absent.

**For grades K-5 Attendace totals = total number of days absent.


Attendance History

This page will allow viewing of the overall attendance of the selected student for all classes.

E-mail Notification

PowerSchool offers parents the opportunity to have daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly emails sent to their email accounts.

The notification screen allows the user to select their preferences for automated notification of student information.







E-mail Notifications ScreenUsers may specify email addresses to which the information is sent, (multiple email addresses may be entered as long as they are separated by a comma), the frequency of the information and the type of information they want to receive.

Teacher Comments

This page will allow you to view any comments entered by the Students Teachers. This information is the same information printed on report cards. Teacher Comments Screen

School Bulletin

This page will show you the School Bulletin information from the administrative staff. School bulletins might include: Extracurricular Activity Schedules, Guidance Information, and other notes of interest.
