2019-2020 Special Activities

These Special Activities give parents and kids an opportunity to have new experiences together which helps develop language and intellectual skills. While we pay most of the cost of these events, we do charge a small fee for some of these events to help offset our costs. Please mark the following dates on your calendar and plan to attend.

August 26 - "Back to School" Family Picnic

Time: 6:00 PM. Please bring a side dish (such as chips, pasta salad, dessert, etc.) to share with the group. Click here for more info.

September 6 - Children's Garden at Botanica

Time: 9:30 AM. Located at 701 Amidon St, Wichita, KS Cost: $2 for 3 and older. Children 2 and under are free.Click here for more info.

October 4 - Klausmeyer Dairy Farm & Pumpkin Patch

Time: 9:30 AM. Located at 8135 S 119th West, Clearwater. Cost: $3 per child getting a pumpkin.

November 18 - Blockfest @ The Haysville Community Library

There will be two sessions: 10:00 - 11:00 AM and 6:00 - 7:00 PM at The Haysville Community Library. There is no cost for this event.

December 6 -The Gingerbread Man @ Century II

Century II in the Mary Jane Teall Theater located at 225 W Douglas, Wichita. Cost: $3 per child ages 3 and older.

January 30- Mom's Meal

Time: 6:30 PM. This is an evening event especially for our PAT Moms held at The Learning Center. There is no charge for this event

February 21 - Exploration Place

Time: 10:00 AM. Located at 300 N Mclean Blvd, Wichita. Cost is $2 for ages 3 and older.

March 13 - Jumpy Jump Land

Time: 9:30 AM. Located at 7150 S Broadway, Haysville. Please wear socks. A participant waiver must be signed. Waivers are available online at jumpyjumpland.com, at the PAT office, or you can fill one out the day of the event at the venue. Cost is $2, 18 months and under are free.

April 16 - Big Truck Night

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM. This is an evening event held in our parking lot, and there in no charge.

May 8 - Haysville Park Tour

Time: 9:15 AM. Meet at Haysville Library and tour parks in Haysville. There is no charge for this event.

Who Can Participate?

All Parents as Teachers and Bridge to Bright Beginnings families are encouraged to participate in any of these events. Daycare providers or other family members are welcome to attend with your child if you are unable to do so. Research shows that the more opportunities your child has to learn and develop, the more brain development will take place.
