2017-2018 Special Activities

These Special Activities give parents and kids an opportunity to have new experiences together which helps develop language and intellectual skills. While we pay most of the cost of these events, we do charge a small fee for some of these events to help offset our costs. Please mark the following dates on your calendar and plan to attend.

September 1 - Sedgwick County Zoo

Time: 9:30 AM. Cost: $3 for 3 and older. Children 2 and under are free.

October 6 - Bergmann's Pumpkin Farm

Time: 9:30 AM. Located at 8401 S. Meridian. Cost: $3 per child getting a pumpkin.

November 6 - Blockfest @ The Learning Center

There will be two sessions: 10:00-11:00 AM and 6:00 - 7:00 PM. at The Learning Center. There is no cost for this event.

December 1 -The Gingerbread Man @ Wichita Children's Theatre

Time: 9:30 AM. Cost is $3 for ages 3 and older.

December 11 - Santa Claus is coming to PAT

Time: 5:30 - 7:00 PM This is a Come and Go Event. Take a picture with Santa, make a craft, enjoy a cookie.

February 1- Mom's Meal

Time: 6:30 PM. This is an evening event especially for our PAT Moms held at The Learning Center. There is no charge for this event

February 16 - Jumpy Jump Land

Time: 9:30 AM. Please wear socks. A participant waiver must be signed. Waivers are available online at jumpyjumpland.com, at the PAT office, or you can fill one out the day of the event at the venue. Cost is $2, 18 months and under are free.

March 2 - Exploration Place

Time: 10:00 AM. Cost is $2 for ages 3 and older.

April 19 - Big Truck Night

Time: 6:30 - 7:30 PM. This is an evening event held in our parking lot, and there in no charge.

May 7- PAT Park Tour

Time: 9:30 - 11:00 AM. Participants will load onto a school bus and travel around Haysville, stopping to play at each park for 10-15 minutes. Load the bus at Haysville Community Library at 9:15 AM. There is no charge for this event.

May 10 - PAT Family Picnic

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Riggs Park. Bring a side dish to share. There is no charge for this event.

Who Can Participate?

All Parents as Teachers and Bridge to Bright Beginnings families are encouraged to participate in any of these events. Daycare providers or other family members are welcome to attend with your child if you are unable to do so. Research shows that the more opportunities your child has to learn and develop, the more brain development will take place.
