A Christmas Carol Receives HONORS!

Congratulations to Campus Mane Stage Theatre & Thespian Troupe #573! The production of A Christmas Carol was chosen as one of the top scoring production for the state of Kansas by the Thespian Kansas Chapter. Campus tied for 1st place, and are now slated to perform January 21st at 7:30 PM on the Century II Main Stage during the Thespian Conference. This is the first time in Campus' 50 year history of theatre that the program has made the top four in the state.

Homecoming 2009

This year’s theme for the Fall Homecoming is, “Super Heroes, Super Colts!” Homecoming week begins Monday, September 28th and runs through Saturday, October 3rd. In keeping with tradition, each day of the week will be highlighted by a different dress:

Monday: “Pajama” day

Tuesday: “Forget fashion” day

Wednesday: “Class color” day (Freshmen green, Sophomores yellow, Juniors pink, & Seniors orange)

Thursday: “Superhero” day (Freshmen are the Hulk, Sophomores are Batman, Juniors are Superman, & Seniors are Spiderman)

Friday: “Spirit” day (everyone wears black and white).

 

Events for the week include the hallway competition on Tuesday morning, the formal assembly on Wednesday, the downtown parade on Friday, and the dance on Saturday. Seniors will vote for their homecoming royalty in their English classes on September 9th and 10th. The candidates will be announced at the Pep Assembly on September 18th. The coronation will occur during half-time of the homecoming football game on Friday, October
2nd.

 

KSN Channel 3 Friday Night Fever Comes To Haysville

We encourage everyone to come out to Colt Stadium on Friday night for the Homecoming game, October 2. . Channel 3 will do live broadcasts beginning at 5:00 PM for Friday Night Fever. The tailgate party will begin at 5:00 until kick-off. Only $2 will buy you a brat, chips, and a drink! Come out and show your support for your hometown team.

 

CHS Stuco Hosting Regional Conference

Campus High School Student Council will be hosting one of the eight Kansas Regional Student Council Conferences on September 23, 2009. CHS StuCo is expecting around 50 schools to send approximately 700 middle school and high school delegates. The 2009 Regional Conferences feature Dr. Earl Reum as the keynote speaker. Dr. Reum, nationally known
as a speaker and magician, will help make each regional conference “the
single most significant learning experience of a delegates life.”

 

September 22 - A BIG day on Campus

Many activities are planned for Tuesday, September 22. The EXPLORE, PLAN and practice ACT are tests that will be given to ALL freshmen, sophomores & juniors on that day. Juniors will also have their hearing and vision tested. The seniors will participate in ordering senior supplies, Lifetouch yearbook pictures, Reality U, and Mini-workshops. Students will be released at 1:10 PM on September 22.

Drivers Education Fees Increase

Due to the recent cuts in public education funding, please be advised that the fee for school year Drivers Education will be increased to $125, which matches the current summer rate. There will be a sliding scale for student enrolled during the school year that qualify for free or reduced lunches, please see below. Students will be placed in the fall or spring semester based upon their age, oldest first semester and youngest in the spring semester. Some students will be placed on a waiting list, once classes are full. You will only be charged if your student is enrolled in the class. If you wish for your student to be taken out of Drivers Education, please contact me at CHS Counseling Office as soon as possible.
