Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19 TESTING

  • Q. What type of “testing” will be administered if that route is chosen? Swabs or spit tests?
  • A. We administer two types of tests: Rapid Test and PCR. With the rapid test, you receive a nasal swab that goes one inch into the nose. The PCR test is a saliva test, where you spit into a tube. Neither of these tests will be administered without parental consent and notification. Even if we have a consent form on file for your child, we will still notify a parent first. You can find the consent form HERE.

  • Q. Will parents be notified before ANY testing is completed on their child with enough time to determine if they will quarantine at home or continue at school?
  • A. We would not test your child without parental consent. You can find the form here. To that point, even if we have a consent form on file, we will still notify you.

  • Q. Where can I go to get my child tested if I want them to be able to stay in schools?
  • A. Your student can get tested from 5:45 a.m. – 8 a.m. at the Dr. John Burke Learning Center, located at 150 Stewart. For drive-thru instructions, click HERE.
